The relationship between citizens and my Community Partner ( Alternative
Spring Break Trip-Nicaragua) is that the citizens are the ones who make the
impact of the people the Sisters of Notre Dame are out there to help. The
citizens are the ones who go and visit the handicapped kids and help them and
spend time with them, they are the ones who make an impact on all of the
unfortunate people by not only providing service, but by also giving their time
to them. It is not only the Sisters of Notre Dame who are out in Nicaragua
helping those people who are in need, but it is also the natives of Nicaragua
who are involved with the people, and also our students who will go on this
trip during Spring Break this year who will be interacting with the people
through the Sisters of Notre Dame who have made all of this possible by the
programs that are being run in Nicaragua. Citizen participation can affect my
Community Partner because without the help of those citizens who give their
devoted time and compassion to those who are in need then nothing would ever
change in Nicaragua. It only takes one person to take action to make change and
without citizens helping through actions then those who are in need will be
negatively affected without the help of others.
